Application and Performance about 16Mo3 Steel for Boiler Pressure Vessel

16Mo3 steel,used for making boiler and pressure vessel, is equal to 12Cr1MoV in China.
16Mo3 is widely used in oil,chemical industry,power station and boiler field. Besides,16Mo3 is also used for making such equipment and component as reactor, heat ex-changer, separator,SPHEre, oil and gas tank, liquefied storage tank,boiler drum, liquefied oil and gas cylinders, hydro-power station with high pressure water pipe and turbine volute. What's more, we have also introduced advanced equipment as flame cutting machine, welding machine, hydraulic machine and so on. Because of this, we have ability to cut and weld many kinds of cutting piece, structural frame,boiler cover, head and so on.
Sulfur content in 16Mo3 makes a difference to weld ability. Sulfur exists in the form of iron sulfide within steel and distribute net-like on the edge of grain boundary. Just because of this, the toughness of steel is decreased dramatically. Both steel and iron sulfide have low eutectic temperature(985℃). When was in hot working, iron and iron eutectic has been melted because of its working temperature (1150-1200℃),resulting in cracking processing. This phenomenon is called sulfur brittleness. Because above character can make steel crack when it is welded. Therefore,it is very strict with sulfur content in steel products. The main distinction among carbon steel,fine carbon steel and high-grade fine steel is the content of sulfur and phosphorus.
