Drainage, accessibility for inspection, connection details, contact between dissimilar materials, and potential accumulation of water or process residues should all be considered during engineering. Proper detailing can help prevent localized corrosion and simplify future maintenance.

For procurement, buyers should confirm the required thicknesses, dimensions, applicable material standard, mechanical and chemical requirements, surface condition, testing requirements, and inspection documentation. Welding and coating requirements should also be clarified when the steel will be fabricated into complete pipe support assemblies.
