The mechanical properties of SA-516 steel plate and Q345R (HIC) steel plate

The mechanical properties and impact toughness of SA-516 steel plate and Q345R(HIC) steel plate are shown in the table below. Q345R(HIC) steel plate is katalor’s mian steel. Katalor have rich experience on Q345R(HIC) steel plate.

1.It can be seen from the bellow table that the Rm and ReL values of SA-516 steel plate vary with the strength grade. The higher the strength grade, the higher the value. The Rm and ReL of the same grade steel plate do not change with the thickness of the plate. The Rm and R eL values of Q345R(HIC) vary with the thickness of the plate, and the Rm and ReL values decrease as the thickness increases.

2.As the strength level increases, the elongation of the SA-516 steel plate decreases, and the standard value of the elongation of the Q345R (HIC) does not vary with the thickness of the plate. Q345R (HIC) tensile test in the thickness direction, the area shrinkage Z ≥ 35

3.SA-516 steel plate has low temperature impact toughness requirements in the range of -29 ~ -50 °C, which can be used for suitable low temperature conditions.Q 345R (HIC) is suitable for working conditions from -20 to -30 °C.

4.The sampling direction of the Q 345R (H IC) steel plate Charpy V-notch specimen is transverse, while the sampling direction of the SA-516 specimen is longitudinal.
