S355J2 low alloy steel: chemical composition and mechanical properties

S355J2 steel plate adopts the European standard EN10025-2, which is compiled by the technical committee of ECISS/TC10 "Grading and Quality of Structural Steel". S355J2 steel plate is roughly equivalent to GB's Q345D S355J2, J2 means that the delivery state is normalized, and the impact energy at -20°C is 27J.

Yield Strength of S355J2 low alloy steel

(Mpa): ≤16mm: ≥355;

16-40: ≥345;

40-63: ≥335;

63-80: ≥325;

80-100: ≥315;

100-150: 295;

150-200: ≥285;

200-250: ≥275;

250-400: ≥265.

Tensile strength of S355J2 low alloy steel

(Mpa): 450-680.

Impact energy:-20℃: ≥27.

Application of S355J2 low alloy steel

S355J2 low alloy steel has good comprehensive mechanical properties, low temperature impact toughness, cold stamping and machinability, and is widely used in welded structures subjected to dynamic loads, such as bridges, vehicles, ships, pipelines, boilers, large containers, oil tanks, heavy machinery and equipment.
