ASTM A537 Class 1 steel for fusion welded pressure vessels

ASTM A537 Class 1 steel plate is a heat-treated carbon-manganese-silicon steel plate used for r fusion welded pressure vessels and structures. 
According to the level of pressure, it is divided into low pressure vessels, medium pressure vessels, high pressure vessels and ultra high pressure vessels.
According to the containing medium: non-flammable, non-toxic; flammable or toxic; highly toxic.

According to different roles in the process:
1.Reaction container: A container used to complete the physical and chemical reactions of the medium.
2.Heat exchange container: a container used to complete the heat exchange of the medium.
3.Separation container: a container used to complete the mass exchange of media, gas purification, solid, liquid, and gas separation.
4.Storage and transportation container: It is a container used to hold liquid or gaseous materials, storage and transportation media, or to balance the buffer pressure.

ASTM A537 steel classification and delivery status
A537CL.1 yield strength ≥ 345MPa, normalized steel plate, tensile strength 485-620MPa.
A537CL2 yield strength ≥ 415MPa, steel plate quenched and tempered, tensile strength 550-690MPa.
A537CL3 yield strength ≥380MPa, steel plate quenched and tempered, tensile strength 550-690MPa

Order requirements for A537 Class 1 plates
1.Vacuum treatment;
2.Additional or special tensile tests;
3.Impact test;
4. Non-destructive inspection (detection).
A537 Class 1 steelmaking method: The steel shall be killed steel.
A537 Class 1 plate heat treatment
All steel plates should be heat treated as follows
A537 Class 1 steel plate should be normalized.
A537 Class 2 and 3 steel plates shall be quenched and tempered. The tempering temperature of A537 Class 2 steel plate should not be lower than 595 ℃, and it should be kept for more than 0.5h. The tempering temperature of Grade 3 steel plate should not be lower than 620`C, and the heat preservation should be above 0.5h.
