MalaysianMalaysian Kuantan United Iron and Steel No. 1 Blast Furnace Ignition on March 26

At 9:30 a.m. on March 26th, MCC's Kuantan United Iron and Steel No. 1 BF, which was designed and manufactured by Shanghai Metallurgy, was successfully ignited. This oven will last for 10 days and will be a blast furnace. Make final preparations for the furnace. This is another key node after the success of the blast furnace hot blast stove on February 8th, marking the joint sprint stage in which Steel will be fully ready for production.

The United Iron and Steel Ironmaking Project contains two 1080 cubic meter blast furnaces and is currently the largest and most technologically advanced blast furnace in Malaysia. The blast furnace project adopts a new type of bell-less top control technology with proprietary intellectual property rights, top-fired hot-blast furnace technology, hearth furnace and furnace longevity technology, and compact “one can” hot metal transportation process technology. Joint iron field design technology, high-efficiency bottom-filtration water slag treatment technology, etc. ensure that the blast furnace system is stable, efficient, low-cost, green, and intelligent production.

The United Iron and Steel Project of Malaysia officially commenced on November 21, 2016. The blast furnace was capped on the 1st of November 20, 2017, and the hot blast stove was successfully ignited on February 8, 2018. The blast furnace No. 1 was equipped with the blast on March 22nd. Furnace conditions, the formal ignition oven on March 26 lasted for 16 months. In the main unit undertaken by each participating unit of the entire plant, it took the lead in achieving the ignition, and established the benchmark of the MCC Group in the site of the United Steel Group and won The owners, project management, design, and supply of complete sets of equipment were highly recognized and appreciated.

The United Iron and Steel Project of Malaysia is a key project of the national “One Belt and One Road” initiative, and is also an exemplary project of international capacity innovation cooperation. The ironmaking unit is the core unit of this project. The successful ignition furnace of No. 1 blast furnace has opened the whole plant. The prelude to production marks that the country’s “One Belt and One Road” initiative is about to usher in the harvest period in Malaysia.
