SPV450 temper brittleness at low temperature

SPV450into martensite after quenching occurred during 250 ~ 400 ℃ tempering embrittlement phenomenon. Has happened embrittlement cannot be eliminated with the method of the reheating, therefore is also called irreversible temper brittleness.

The causes of SPV450 temper brittleness at low temperature has made a lot of research. Is generally believed that quenching SPV450 within 250 ~ 400 ℃ tempering, cementite in the original austenite grain boundary or precipitation in the martensite interface, form a thin shell, is the main reason for the low temperature tempering brittleness.

SPV450 adding a certain amount of silicon, delayed the formation of cementite during tempering, can improve the low temperature tempering brittleness temperature, so the ultra-high strength steel containing silicon can occur in the 300 ~ 320 ℃ tempering embrittlement, improve comprehensive mechanical properties.
