add Boron to JIS SS400 steel plate for some special purpose

The mechanical properties of JIS SS400 steel plate are shown below

It can be seen from the diagram that the yield strength and tensile strength of boron-containing JIS SS400 steel plate with good deoxidization and denitrification (process I) are increased by 10 MPa and 25 MPa above respectively. And those of boron-containing JIS SS400 steel plate with incomplete deoxidization and denitrification (process II) are decreased by 20 MPa and 15 MPa above respectively, compared with JIS SS400 steel plate without boron (process III).

It can be seen from the diagram that the addition of boron reduces the elongation of JIS SS400 steel plate to varying degrees.
It is common to add Boron to JIS SS400 steel plate for some special purpose. The boron-containing JIS SS400 steel plate sometimes is written as SS400B. The added Boron has certain effet on properties of JIS SS400 steel plate.
